Joshua Fields

Joshua was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He is the oldest of three and was raised just outside of Chicago.  He received a Master of Arts degree in Economics from DePaul University in 1996, and has spent most of his career doing Market Research in the Retail Industry.  His first published creative work, “Staring into the Sun,” is his tribute to women and relationships.  It is a short book of poems patterned after the ee cummings poem "May I Feel Said He," and is based on his experiences and observations.  He currently resides in San Francisco.

Joshua's second book is a Children's Book titled “Seasons of Isabelle.”  It is a story of the circle of life and self-actualization.  The story is based on his Family Dog - a Golden Retriever named Isabelle.   The book is scheduled for release in the Fall of 2010.  Joshua, not confined to one audience, also has a third forthcoming book of short stories titled “In our Time of Living” that focuses on Social Issues in America.

Staring Into the Sun - Reviews

Joshua Fields may be a moniker Jeff Stanis, another division of his talent, but that does not really affect or concern the reader of this unique collection of poems. Fields writes conversations - one line for the man, one for the woman - and while that may not in a review sound too interesting, reading these moments page by page creates a sense of intimacy ... continue

The Seasons of Isabelle

The Seasons of Isabelle

THE SEASONS OF ISABELLE is about a Golden Retriever puppy who discovers who she really is meant to be through the adventures she shares with her woodland friends, Emily the Robin, Finn the Squirrel, Oliver the Rabbit and Thomas the Chipmunk. Other characters like Agnes the Possum and all her brood, Tango, the neighborhood bonvivant who falls in love with Isabelle, and many more, populate this charming story that brings the seasons of life to children in a gentle yet entertaining way. THE SEASONS OF ISABELLE reaches readers of all ages with the joys and mishaps of childhood and the teen years, the delights and challenges of being a parent, the wisdom and insights of maturity, and the hope of eternity surrounded by friends and family in a place where you can catch your tail.

Inside "The Seasons of Isabelle"

It was a warm sunny summer’s day. Isabelle was in the back yard resting under a tree. Tango dropped by.

"Hi, Isabelle, how are you today?"
"Humph!" said Isabelle.
"What’s the matter?" asked Tango.
"What’s the matter?" said Isabelle. "I’ll tell you what’s the matter. I never see you, that‘s what’s the matter. What do you have to say for yourself?" Isabelle said sternly.
Tango stammered, "Well I ….. um, um."
"Humph!" replied Isabelle. And she went on to say, "You’re going to be a father. I want you spending more time around here."
"Yes, dear." said Tango.
"And another thing,” said Isabelle, “I don’t want you hanging out all night with those so-called friends of yours."
"Yes, dear," said Tango.
"And another thing," said Isabelle. “Take a bath! You stink!"
"Yes, dear." said Tango.
"Good." said Isabelle. “Now lay down here with me, and rub my belly." Tango hung his head. He let out a deep sigh and joined Isabelle under the tree.
"That’s much better," said Isabelle. Tango did his best to smile and settle in.
